Question: Pet allergy?

Okay so I got a new puppy a week ago. I love her a lot and as far as I know I'm not allergic to dogs I've been around many and never get itchy or get a swollen throat or anything. When I showered my new puppy three days ago I started getting itchy all over my hands and feet(which she also bites and scratches) and she doesn't have her shots yet because she's getting them tomorrow. Could it be that I'm allergic to her or that she was carrying a disease and transmitted it to me because I get rashes on my hands and feet and I don't know what it is because I've never been allergic to a dog before.just wondering if anyone knows what this could be?
