Question: Proving ownership ?

So me and my boyfriend are the verge of breaking up. We have a 1 yr old Rottweiler and a 2 month St Bernard/ Chocolate lab mix. I bought both of the dogs and paid for everything they have. I used to buy our Rotts food until I quit my full time job. I've bought our mixed dogs good since we've had him. The mix is under my name at the vet and the rott is under my boyfriends name. Neither of the dogs are registered. So how can I prove that both dogs are mine and that i potentially care for them. I didn't get receipts for any of the dog purchases either. But I'm afraid if we break up he will take me to court for "his" dog or steal him from me and I won't be able to get him back. His cousin broke up with her boyfriend and he took her dog which she bought and cared for but she can't just take him back because there's no proof he's hers ?? Please please help. I love my dogs and I don't want him to take them
