Im thinking of getting another bird since my cockateil passed away at 20 yrs of age and i had to move and now i no longer attend a magnet school i attend a public school and am away for 7 hrs a day but i am going to play with my featherd friend for hours on end and plan on teaching him lots of tricks and maybe to talk i have a pretty large cage a 4ft x 3ft x 5ft (LxWxH) and would like a conure parrot but i didnt realize there were so many i do plan on getting a companion for him of the same species or one in the same family (not for breeding purposes these birds will be strictly companions) i do have lots of toys for bedium sized birds and i would like a bird thats intellegent and fun loving and i can handle lots and lots of screeching (my sister used to have a macaw before she moved and as soon as she or i put him down he'd screem at the top of his lungs and we finally trained him that we wont respond to screeching but he still did it just not as much) i think ive had enough experience with birds between my cockateil and her macaw ( i dont want a huge bird if im going to be away that long and dont want to suffer the bites again) so give me suggestions of conures or other birds that fit the bill.
