Question: Rat help or advice?

so i have two rats that have aggressive behavior with each other so I had to separate them. one cage is a critter nation(very large) and the other is a bin cage which is just until I get another critter nation. I switch them out every too days so they get a chance to enjoy the big cage. I have been doing this for a while now with no problems but I came home today and went to feed my boys dinner and the one in the smaller cage has discharge coming from his eyes and he is breathing very heavily and fast and he refuses to eat. all he wanted to do was for me to hold him. once I do he starts bruxing but his breathing is still weird and I don't know what is wrong with him is it because I wasn't home all day or because he was in the small cage or is it a health issue. I should also mention that he is a mommas boy
