Okay, so right now we have two dogs (male and female that cannot have puppies), two parakeets (male and female and are planning to breed them in a few months), a rabbit (lives outside), and new kitten! We had the dogs first, then the bunny, then the birds, then the kitty. After we got the bunny my mom said no more pets. Then we got a bird, my mom said no more pets after that. We got the 2nd bird 2 months ago, my mom said no more pets. I talked her into the bunny and almost every pet after! Now we have a kitten. My mom does not especially like how wild the kitten is and has threatened to get rid of it several times in the past 2 1/2 weeks (we have had the cat for 3 weeks). I like the cat but am not too crazy about her myself. My mom would have given her away by now if my two younger sisters had not absolutely fallen in love with this kitty despite all the scrapes and scratches from owning her. I would like to eventually move into owning larger birds than parakeets, but I do not know if I could manage to talk her into that with a crazy cat running about! Should I just move on and hope to own bigger birds when I move out? My mom and I have already discussed where the pets are going when my siblings and I move out and I am taking the birds. Should I just try to work with this cat as best as I can? Will this cat even fit with us considering WE ARE going to breed the birdies no matter what? Thank You for your answers and input!
