My cat recently had an issue where this one spot (finger tip sized) on his face kept getting red and raw as if the skin was ripped or scratched off. It was a small spot on his cheek flanking the nose and nowhere else. I never saw how it actually happened, but it repeatedly would bleed and get raw again for about two weeks or so. He went to the vet and they suggested that it was probably allergies, gave me a topical steroid and sent me on my way. After a while of back and forth, it eventually cleared up and the hair just recently grew back. I had stopped giving him food with fish in it so I thought maybe that was why, but today I saw a tiny wound in the same exact area as before. Again, I have no idea how it actually happened, but I find it odd that it's this one specific spot on his face and I was wondering if anyone had something similar happen with their cat. Usually allergies aren't so specific to one spot only. Just to preface, He has no fleas or parasites. Indoor only. Recently had a tooth extraction and was on antibiotics for a week (the surgery is not related since the tooth pulled was on the other side of the face and the issue started before the surgery. Vet ruled it out.) On a canned food chicken diet. I can't think of any other info but any theories would be appreciated.
