Question: Will my male cat hurt his kittens.?

So I have 1 female cat and 1 male. My male cat is very patient and won't scratch you even if he doesn't like what your doing. I wash him and he doesn't even attempt to scratch me but does try to get away without get his nails into you. My little sister will hold him sometimes and if he tries to get away at first but she doesn't let go he will sit there patiently and wait for her to let go. Doesn't lash out. My female cat on the other hand is the opposite but they ended up becoming pals and groom each and all. So when she goes into heat I'm not planning on letting her outside and he will probably get to her before I know it. Since it will only be his kittens ( if she doesn't get out somehow) will he be nice to them or will he hurt them? Thanks
