My 'boyfriend' and I used to live together, and he got a puppy in that time and he became abusive towards it. (Even though he treats everyone and everything like garbage.) We lived with some other people, and they would hear the dog yelping and they would hear me screaming at him to stop but no one cared! at all!!! I couldn't get help from anyone, I would get ridiculed for talking about it This guy moved into a rental where they don't allow pets, so he gave me the dog and I split. Now the dog is in a happy safe home, away from him like a dream come true, but every day I get 5-10 paragraph long messages from ex about how I don't care about him and he'll to come to my house and take the dog. Since I left him he became addicted to opiates and then decided to get off them. I don't know if that's true, because I haven't been around him, but if it is then he's withdrawing and his suddenly angry for no reason mood swings will be so much worse. I'm scared he'll come to my house and kill me or violently take the dog. I'm also afraid of contacting police because I've seen how no one cares about abuse victims, even innocent animals, and the police won't do anything to help or worse: they'll take the dog and put it in a pound because my ex is the actual owner
