Question: Slight swelling on dog's eye?

For the past few days, my dogs lower eyelid has been on and off slightly swollen (less than a pee size, maybe a quarter of a pea, if that). It's under her lower right eyelid more towards the outside (away from her nose) of her eye. There's no discharge or blurriness in her eye. It doesn't seem to bother her much and the swelling usually swells at night for ten minutes max and then goes down by itself or with a short warm compress. I originally thought it was cherry eye but they symptoms don't seem to match. I called the vet and they are going to see her in a little over a week. They said to leave it alone in the meantime but I'm worried that it will get worse if I don't keep doing warm compresses. Any advice?
