Question: Is it bad for my diabetic grandma to get a cat?

So I live with my grandma, I'm still in High school and I have a job. I want to get a cat, It can't have babies and has all it's shots. But my grandma has diabetes. My friends are giving away a cat and I want tot take it but i'm not sure. We had a cat from the streets before but we had to give it away because something about my grandma and her getting scratched. This cat is also an adult so it won't be as hyper unlike the other one which was a baby. Can someone help me with this situation asap because I don't know what to do. Please and thanks :/
