I just had to give my cat a bath because she got muddy and my step dad refused to let her in. It was so traumatizing because some dumbass downstairs used the tap and the water came out boiling like hot water from a boiled kettle. She screamed and I quickly turned the water to freezing cold because I paniced and now im scared ive made it worse. She isnt really a cuddly cat, but at the moment she is laying on me, shaking, and im really worried. I know some people say you shouldn't bath them, but there really wasn't another choice, she was filthy and it just started to rain outside so we had to let her in. We've only had her about 4 months because she was a skinny stray and we let her in. Will she not come back after I let her out tomorrow? Would it be a good idea to phone the vet? The water was so hot, my hand was barely under it a few seconds and its red. Im really worried- help?
