My dog a husky, has never really had a problem with her crate for 2 years. When it's time for bed she gos in without a fuss and sleeps peacefully, or if the house is gonna be empty and I need her to be in she goes in. This has been the case for the past 2 years and although I may use the crate as a time out zone she never had a problem with it. Sometime last month however she began to avoid her crate. If she was put in she almost immediately starts crying when the door is closed. It started a month ago when she suddenly starts whining at 3am for seemingly no reason. I took her out let he go the bathroom and tried to put her in her crate but she would not go in quietly so that night I decided to just let her sleep outside of it and I slept on the couch to make sure she didn't mess anything up. This was the case for about a week, and since she wasn't really ruining anything I decided to let her go. However she has no problem going to my other dog's (a German shepherd) crate at all. In fact when I tell her to go to her crate she goes there instead and when it was bedtime yesterday she tried to sleep in there but I wouldn't let her why kick the dog out of his crate. But I did an experiment and found that my shepherd didn't excatly want to go to the husky's crate either (while pulling on his collar he offered no resistance going to his crate while resisting her crate). At this point I'm starting to think there's something wrong with the husky's crate but I can't figure out what.
