I have a chihuahua poodle mix that is 8 months. He's a really good boy and does not bark inside the house. I used to take him for walks but I stopped about 3 months ago because my schedule was all over the place and I just couldn't find the time to take him. Now that my schedule is back on track I have started walking him twice a week and it's been very hard. In the past he did not bark at other dogs or other people. He always wanted to be greet other dogs and people. In the past two times that I have taken him though he will bark and growl at other dogs and even people. What can I do to stop this? I would like for him to be calm and ignore them. It does not matter if I'm the one walking him or if it is my dad walking him, he still barks. I know that I need to correct this behavior and I want to because I want him to be able to enjoy more frequent walks, if he doesn't stop barking I don't know that I'll be able to keep taking him. He also barks when he is outside in the backyard and the neighbor is outside. The park I go to is behind some residential properties and today there were dogs bark and my dog instantly started barking along, then when we were walking back we saw a small brown dog in front of us and my dog immediately let out a bark. I got him to keep walking and stop barking but about a minute later some joggers passed by with a boxer and the dog in front of us started barking and by the time the dog passed by us Toby started growling and so did the boxer.
