Ive been doing a fishless cycle for over 3 weeks now, i even stopped testing water daily because nothing every changes. My ph level is consistent and my water temp is high; only for cycle, my ammonia is at 4ppm since day one and i havent done any water changes. No nitrates or nitrites ever. Why is this taking so long, everything seems fine. I even add pinches of fish food every few days, i also turn the light on for some extra hear, not even a speck of algae will grow and the water has been conditioned so its not like chlorine is killing the bacteria. If nothing changes soon im considering to start all over with a fish in cycle, even though i would like the tough filter media that comes from fishless cycling. Any advise? How long did yours take?
