what should we do about our cat?

About three days ago our 3-4 month old kitten was foaming at the mouth, panting, wasn't eating or drinking, and was very lethargic (lying in one spot for 12 hours straight). She was immediately taken to the vet where she was given a shot of antibiotics for a fever. She seemed to pep up shortly after arriving home but quickly went down hill again and went for about two days without eating or drinking anything. Yesterday it began eating and drinking normal again and had significantly more energy but was very off balance and wobbly. She was taken back to the vet today for a follow up where the doctor said that she had a liver shunt and probably wouldn't last three more days. The diagnosis was based on the fact that the cat had jaundice but no tests were run to say for sure. The doctor didn't give any vaccines and didn't charge us for the visit. He even brought up the option of euthanasia. He said the only good sign was that she had her appetite back again. The cat has been eating and drinking normal today but is slightly less energetic than normal. We also noticed that it has been stretching more than usual and jerks her head somewhat frequently. My mom said she also noticed that she appeared to be in a daze at times. What do you guys think we should do? Has anyone had something similar happen with there cat?
