This is something I've been looking into, but internet research has been useless. I'm going to try to talk to local groomers in my area and ask them about the best way to get started, but in the meantime, if any groomers can tell me ANYthing about how you trained and what you think is the best way to get started, I'm all ears. I've heard great things and terrible things about Animal Behavior College, and I'm wary of the Petsmart and Petco training programs, though those sound pretty tempting. Is training at a school the way to go, or should you try to get some sort of job at a professional groomer's and then just work your way up? And how, if I can ask, were you able to pay for it, if you did take some sort of course? It seems difficult to get any financial assistance in this. Also, just one more thing...if you're just going to come and tell me to forget about it because you think I'm asking stupid questions, don't waste your time. I'm dealing with enough discouragement from a family member, and I don't have time for that.
