Why are my crickets dead?

I have lots of crickets and they die by the hundreds I feed them I have egg cartons in there I give them water on Cotten bolls and I try to get rid of all the dead ones so all the other ones don't die but on matter what I try by the end of the week I have to buy more for my bearded dragon please help Ty P.S. What I would like to do is breed them so I don't half to keep buying them if that's possible Ty
