I can't sleep without my dog?

I'm on holidays overseas with my mom to see our family for a few months while my sister takes care of the house with her boyfriend, she couldn't come cause she has to study Uni so yeah she's looking after my dog. Anyway, my dog is 5 years old and he's been sleeping with me ever since he was very young. I can't sleep without him, I feel very insecure when I sleep alone and I feel as if someone is watching me but when I'm with my dog I know I feel really safe. Mom wanted me to put him outside under the house but I denied cause I'm scared something will happen to him. When I was young I had a dog that was 4 years old, there was an car incident back then and the vet said he doesn't have much life left for him and if he gets over excited he dies.. one day we left him under the house and it was raining that time I was in my room not sleeping at all cause I can hear my dog crying I really wanted to bring him in. He past away the next day and it was so upsetting even when I write this its so hard I don't want to put my dog under the house at all. I can't sleep without him, I miss him so much..
