I just adopted a little kitten (4 months old). I've kept her in my room for 3 days and have gradually tried to introduce my older cat (1 year old) and dog ( 5 years old). Every time the kitten will be the one to put up a fight by constantly GROWLING and HISSING. I'm not sure if its just because shes very new to the environment (has only been with me for 3 days) The kitten is very very loving when on its own and is petted and cuddled next to. She purrs when she eats and brushes against your legs. But she does a complete turn around when another animal is there. Usually I will see concerns of owners worrying about the older cat and how they will act when a newcomer is in the house, however for me, the kitten is the one I am having trouble with. Maybe I should just keep the kitten in my room for a whole week so she can get completely comfortable in her new environment? Is this just normal? Are there ways I can calm down a kitten before its too late?
