My small dog got attacked by my neighbor's two big dogs. They got out of their fenced in yard and got her when my mom let her out to go to the bathroom. She usually runs around outside for about 15 minutes and goes to the bathroom and then comes to the door to get back in. This guy's dogs have attacked other animals and even a woman that used to live here. He was supposed to have one put to sleep but he just took it to some family's house and brought it back a few months later. We're trying to get him to pay for her vet bills but he says he can't pay all of it. If we go to court would we be able to make him pay and have the dogs put to sleep? My dog has a broken rib, a broken jaw, a hole on both of her sides and a big cut under her arm. She's going to have surgery on her jaw once they get everything else taken care of. It took them all afternoon to get her stable and treat her for shock before they could treat the wounds. So far he has paid the 100$ that the vet needed today but he keeps saying that he won't be able to pay it all. There is also small kids all around on our block and those dogs will run up to anyone and attack them. Its not safe to have those dogs around here but he won't get rid of them or put the one to sleep like he was supposed to. She wasn't in the their yard either so I know that can't be used against us. He was fined for the dogs being out. He has been in a lot of trouble with his dogs.
