Question: Cat neuter recovery?

I have a 10 month old who I got neutered on Tuesday, dropped him off at 8am and picked him up at 7pm. The vet put dissolving stitches on him and didn't really give me any instructions, he's been fine the area looks good no redness or anything but he is indoor outdoor but I'm keeping him strictly indoor until he is healed and whether or not he wants to go out after that is up to him but I was just wondering how long it would take to heal since I figure the stitches might make it a little quicker? When would it be okay to let him outside for a while?
