Awhile ago, i started leasing this mare at my barn. It recently ended, on what I thought were amicable terms. Turns out the owner trashed me on a social media site (that i'm not on), saying I ruined the mare and was not a good rider at all. my name was specifically mentioned. Normally, I am a really quiet, keep to myself kind of person, so i'm really embarrassed and upset by this, and I'm considering switching barns. I wouldn't say I have ruined the horse at all. I don't have a lot of experience riding, but I would say I have been doing well for the time i've been doing it, if that makes sense. The owner also specifically asked me if I wanted to start leasing her horse, so I feel like she shouldn't have asked me if i am so terrible. Anyways, a lot of other people from the barn probably saw it and i know i'll feel self-conscious and judged if I ride there again. I really like my instructor, he's taught me so much and is very professional, but I don't know how to bring this up to him. Normally he's dismissive of any barn drama and doesn't want to listen to it. He gets a LOT of money from this person, but he also gets a fair amount from me, so I'm not sure how he would handle this. How would you try and resolve this?
