My wife and I have been pet owners in the past and are aware of the responsibilities and know that we can handle it. But it is our first time having a child. We have wanted pets for a while and were planning and getting one once we moved into a house, which God willing, we are planning to do in a few months. Now my wife is pregnant, which we had planned. We are expecting our child at the end of 10/2015. Growing up with pets can be an amazing experience. I think my parents had pets from before the time I was born, and there were almost no periods of time growing up where I did not have a dog or cat. I really want my children to grow up with animals. If I carry more than my share of the responsibilities, understanding my wife needs her rest, do you think it's a good idea to get a pet when she's about five months pregnant?
