Question: Pasture advice needed!!?

I was looking for some advice on a horse my family recently purchased. Luna (the name I've given her 😊) is a black quarter horse mare and stands about 15 hands tall! She doesn't have any behavioural problems and she is an amazing ride !! However, the previous owner told me when he dropped her off that her feeding schedule was to graze at night and be turned in during the day. For the past few days I've been keeping her in a paddock throughout the day and stalling for the night, just until she gets a little more used to the surroundings and then I'll turn her out to the pasture. However, today we had a good family horse friend come over to look at Luna and watch me ride. After the ride he suggested that we take Luna out to the pasture and let her graze for an hour. He began telling us that we should ween her off her old schedule and let her graze throughout the day and be turned in at night. So the part I'm concerned about is all the changes for her. The schedular change and the overall feed change when she came here is all kinda making me dizzy about what schedule I should follow and how I can keep her eating and stomach on balance after all this change. Do you have any advice on what measures I should take and how I can best benefit the horse and keep her in a safe schedule ?
