Question: Platy is sunk at the bottom of my tank :(?

I have been having problems with my Platies ever since I started a fish tank. After a rocky start I was able to keep 3 Platies alive for about 5 months but 2 months ago my high fin died from no obvious reason. Then about 4 weeks later my micky mouse platy started having trouble swimming and was always sunk on the bottom of the tank, she soon passed away. 3 more weeks later my Sunset Platy died, he had the same problem. Trouble swimming and always sunk at the bottom of the tank but he also had a U shaped rip in his back tail. With in a day of showing systems he died. I now have one Platy and two Cory cats left. Im worried my tank may have something wrong with it, I have always checked my water readings and they are all fine except for the ammonia which always reads 0.25. I'm not sure if I'm reading it wrong since it always reads this or if there is a cause for the constant ammonia. I have had the tank started for about 10 months. Any Ideas on what might have happened to my Platies is well appreciated. I'm worried it may be fin rot and spread to my other fish :(
