I just had a friend ask me if she could breed my ACD/Beagle mix pup to her BC/Aussie mix b*tch when he's old enough (he's only 4 months right now). She assumes that it would be "great" because they're both about the same size and would make "great farm dogs". I personally don't believe in breeding unless it's to better the breed so I told her and she says, "Oh, do you plan to get him fixed?" I said, "No, but just because he's staying intact doesn't mean I plan to breed him." She still thinks I'm going to let her because that's just the way she is. Anyone else ever had this happen? If so, how did you respond? Just curious. Thanks! Lol Ratm, I'm pretty sure dogs don't really care. They don't get the same pleasure out of it as humans do, I'm sure. He won't be bred but he will keep his manhood. @ FidosCityGuide: I don't really have to worry about that because our dogs are never together anyway. We live 15 miles apart and her dog never leaves the farm and my pup is always with me. Wow TK, some people really just don't have brains. I feel sorry for those kids dogs. Some people are just so stupid. "Let the b*tch have one litter so you can recover the cost of buying her". Really? That's soooooooo dumb. Stupid logic. I'm buying a $3500 dollar dog in the future and she will probably never be bred because I'm not into breeding and don't want to have to go through all the trouble of showing dogs, getting titles, doing health tests, etc. Just not my thing.
