Idk what is going on with my dog?

My dog has been with my family since it was two weeks old. We use to feed it milk from a bottle. She is now 8(turned it about 3 weeks ago). About a year ago she use at random times run under the bed and just stay there. She did it again a few days ago and b.c we thought it was hazardous and annoying we got her out and put a dog wall up so she couldnt go into the room to hide under the bed. Me feeling bad that we restricted her to the hallway let her get comfortable in my closet. Long story short she has become overly possesive to where she lies now. First it was my room and it was almost impossible to get her out without her fighting back as if we were strangers. Now it is in the hallway. If you get close she starts to grow and wont let you pass. She doesnt want to go outside, well it seems like she wants to but she doesnt want to leave her post. Even her barks are weirder and don't sound the same. She eats in snippets and goes back to lying down. When she looks at me she starts to growl and shake in a weird way. I do not know what is going on with her but it is very weird. I do not know if it is a phase or if she has really lost it. It can even be a sickness. Either way it is very disheartning. The change has happened so fast which is another reason why it is confusing. If she keeps this up for another day I will take her to the vet. Anybody knows whats going on or what we should do?
