His name is George. He is a very well trained dog. He is 5 years old. He can sit, roll over, shake your hand, and lay down. He knows a lot of tricks. He is half pit, half American bull dog. He has always been very good to the family. We kept him outside on a chain for a little while. He has always been fed, and taken off his chain for about two hours out of the day everyday. We bring him in every winter. He is very house trained. He has always done things that he's not supposed to, like dig in the trash, or something like that and get in trouble. My husband always spanked him. He usually does really good. He has always been skiddish towards strangers, but recently when people have came over, he just cant seem to lighten up. Also, my husband will go to play with him, and he will growl. He will also growl when he gets in trouble. Hes never done this before, and im wondering if it is something weve done, or is there something we can do? He is a very good dog, and hes been very good to the family. Hes never hurt a fly. We had baby chicks once, and I think he got confused as far as thinking he was their caregiver or something. The chicks would cuddle around him and he would keep them warm. He gets along well with any animal. I'm just not sure why..and what to do about him acting this way towards us. Hes never done this before. Is there something we could have done to prevent this, and what can we do about it?
