My Great Pyrenees is 1 1/2 years old. We recently got him a shock collar, although reluctantly, because he was having a problem with snapping at people when they came in the house. We have just noticed a rash that has developed on his neck. He is a white dog, and the fur is yellow/brown around the rash. We are not sure if the coloring is from dirt, pus, blood, all or none. We also don't think it is from the shock collar because the rash is where his normal/every day color was, while the shock collar was higher up on his neck. We can't get a good look at the rash because he refuses to let us touch it. He bit my mother when she tried to take a look. We are spraying antibacterial spray for dogs on it. Is it something to be concerned about or should we keep doing what we are doing? We only want to take him to the vet if it is something serious that can't be treated at home because we recently had two cars fixed and celebrate christmas. We really don't have the money, but we love him and will take him if we have to. Any advice for home treatment?
