why is my dog pooping blood?

so in the morning she (My dog) vomited and kept vomiting occasionally until like 4:30 pm she pooped blood. so we were alarmed and took her to the vet. at the vet she pooped out blood three times before seeing the vet (we waited like 45 minutes). She was seen by the vet and he did an x ray of her abdomen and saw nothing other than an enlarged stomach and liver (he didn't say if that had anything to do with the bleeding) he also injected S/Q fluids(i guess to keep her hydrated without having to drink water) and also injected Reglan. well he never gave us a diagnosis he recommended i get my dog blood work done but all i had was $232 in my wallet so i couldn't afford it. after coming back home we gave her a prescribed antibiotic(Metronidazole Suspension 100 mg/mL) and she has done fine only vomited once and only bled once. MY main questions are why does the blood shoot out? Is this really serious? Will she be OK with just the medication? and Obviously, What is wrong with her? I am really scared for her i don't know if this bleeding can cause death. BY THE WAY: she is a female Pomeranian mixed with something else i don't know(she was a gift). she is not fixed/spayed, and she weighs 17Lbs. and she is 10 Years of age Any opinions and comments are highly appreciated, thank you feel free to ask any questions as well I thank everyone for their comments they have really relieved me and pointed me towards the right direction i hope to get the bloodwork done tomorrow.
