will this hurt my goldfish?

Okay so long story short , my friend supprised me with 2 goldfish , a tank equipped with pebbles a chalk like cube that releases oxygen into the water and keeps algae growth to a minimum it also releases vitamines into the water now the fish that came with the tank were in the typical plastic bags so i poured water into my tank after setting it up and i put the bags that containd the fish into the water so they could get used to tge temperature , i left them in there for about 20 mins before cutting the bags open and letting the fish into the tank there dosent seem to be anything wrong with them but i read that the water must be room temperature but the water i put them in is relatively chilled not cold but chilled , they also dont seem to bebeating , they suck the flakebin then spit it out i just want the fish to live as long as possible because they were a gift and i quite like them am i doing something wrong ?? any help would be appreciated
