Question: 5 week old puppy has diarrhea?

I recently got a 5 week old puppy and I have had him for a week now. We are aware that a 5 week old puppy is not supposed to be away from the mother and siblings for obvious reasons, but the puppies mother became extremely ill and was unable to take care of her puppies. She rejected them at 4 weeks old because she became very unhealthy. She lost so much weight and could see all of her bones. Everytime the mother was put with the puppies would would growl and bark very viciously until she was removed from their enclosure. I decided to take one of the puppies in being that my work schedule is very open. I took him to the vet as soon as I got him and found out surprisingly that everything was normal. The vet did however give me Royal Canine puppy chow to help keep him hydrated and told me that since he is 5 weeks old he does not need a milk supplement and can soon begin eating hard puppy chow. He seems very healthy, he is playing normally, and eating 4 times a day (a full can of Royal Canine). I noticed this afternoon that he had some diarrhea when he went potty. It was the first time I noticed something because throughout the night and into the morning he seemed perfecting fine with no complications. I called the vet and they are wanting me to do a full re-evaluation, fecal test, provo test, distemper test, and a few more tests I can t think of. Is all this testing necessary? Should I wait the rest of the day to see if it gets any better?Could it be stress from being rejected?
