Hallo! For the past few weeks, I've been interested in adopting a Shiba-Inu as a pet. I know that Shibas tend to be very independent and hard to train, but my mum has had many Shibas before, and we both know how to train them. I also will invest in a dog trainer. One thing I realized when researching about Shiba-Inu is that they can be aggressive to other UNKNOWN dogs that they haven't met before, especially if not socialized. (We will socialize him or her properly, of course) But I was wondering, is it a possibility that they can be aggressive with dogs that they live with? I looked this up and found no answers, and mum has never kept a Shiba with another dog. Right now, I have a Red Heeler named Arthur, who is almost two years old. He is absolutely wonderful and friendly with other dogs, and enjoys playing with them. He especially likes dogs he has not met before, and is very calm and kind around unknown dogs. I know Shibas need attention and play, so I thought that a Shiba and Arthur would work perfectly. Arthur might even be able to show my new Shiba how to act better around strange dogs. I'm looking to buy a young/puppy Shiba, so I was wondering if he might not be aggressive to Arthur if he was raised WITH Arthur. So basically, is it possible to keep a Shiba with another dog?
