So we got our yellow lab when she was 4 months. She is now 8 months now. We have been continuously working with her to house train her and potty train her. She is a very smart dog and picked things up quickly (potty training was a little hard)... She goes in her crate no problem. However when we leave during the day she barks after we put her in it and again when she hears us pulling in the driveway. At night she is usually tired out with playing with our other lab we have to wake her up to go in her crate.. at first she'd wake up once to go to the bathroom and then fall back asleep but now she wakes up, we take her out, then an hour or two she will begin whining again. We've given her bones to chew on.. interactive toys with a treat, and her crate is completely covered with a blanket. We are having a baby next month and we really need her to stop whining in crate? Any suggestions on what to do or why she may be doing this? We would like to keep her out of the crate at night but she's not ready for that as she tends to jump on the bed, and my belly, and tends to chew on things. She also is not spayed.
