cat cries after he poops?

I adopted my cat off the street and the doc said by his teeth he looked between 1 and 2 years old. he was very skinny when we first got him and we had to get shit shots and some dewormer. yes he is fixed. hes relatively fat now and has a pot belly but hes not dragging. He doesnt do it every time but he been crying after he poops sometimes. his poop is extremely smelly but its not runny nor solid either. its like a.. sorry if this ruines anything for yo.u but its like a peanut butter color. theres no blood in it. he was checked for feline hiv and leukemia and was nagative. can sombody tell me what may be going on? I thought at first he was just crying for attention but he will walk right out of the room where we were at and cry or cry in the next room where he knows were at and it happens within a minute or 2 of him pooping not just out of nowhere. Thanks in advance. i will take him to the vet if i really need to
