We have a sick budgie hes lost weight and energy the vet said it could be a virus so has given us avipro plus to try 3 months ago our budgie lost his mate and he was fine for a couple of months but for the last week all he does is sleep puff up and breath heavy the vet is convinced that he misses his mate and that this illness has brought on because of that. He said if no change in him next few days ive got to take down a faeces sample to check for infection we don't want to get another budgie as we have lost 2 in the space of 6 moths his mate they did tests found nothing wrong with her hes in the same room as the other two for company but doesn't talk to them which is strange as a couple of weeks ago he flew on their cage and wanted to get in so he must be generally ill. I just wondered if anyone has probiotics on a sick budgie or even one that lost its mate and did they work as we have never used this stuff before
