my budgie has recently started biting my hand when i put it in his cage it doesnt hurt I think it is because?

recently I started trying to gently handle him which he didn't like and would constantly bite me so I put him back and know which is the first time after I have only had him for a week he has started to bite me when I put my hand in the cage so I don't know if I am overreacting my first pet but I just want to know if there are any other ways to make my budgie like me again because he used t be fine with it but the past few days he has gotten really angry
