I got a parakeet a little more than a week ago. Tonight he is the most active that he has ever been since I have gotten him. I have him out of his cage, he has his wings clipped though he always tries to fly, which is funny to watch. I was just letting him roam my room. I have an attached bathroom, had to go pee, so I went in there, and not even a minute later, he comes in chirping and all puffed up. I finish in there and go back to my room leaving the light on for him thinking he was just exploring, but he follows me back out chirping again, and when I lay down he climbs up onto my bed and sitting on me chirping and puffed up. Obviously he is now comfortable with me, but what exactly does he think of me, is he happy Also I've heard a lot of things about Budgies and i'm not certain what the sex is (I just call it a him because, well i'm hoping that's the case), I never really asked at the store. I know that blueish is for male pink for female, at least that's what they say, but also if there is white rings around the nostril it could be a female, so any help is great Some times it looks more blue other times more purple. But always have the white.
