My English Mastiff is 3 years old. He's obviously an outside dog seeing as how he's 250 pounds and very massive. Anyway, during the winter (I live in NC so it rarely gets below 30) I always fill his doghouse with cedar shavings to keep him warm, but tonight is the coldest night we've had in a decade (-9 degrees) and im really concerned about his safety. His doghouse is full of cedar shavings, and I just threw two blankets in the dryer to get them warm and put one in his house and one on the outside of it and sat outside with him for a while. My question is, do you think he will be able to make it through these next few absurdly cold nights? I can't bring him inside because my landlord only allows outdoor pets. Is there anything else I can do to keep him warm? Thank you in advance.
