Which medicine or treatment is best for Fur Coat Syndrome?! I read about it online and I can't find one that's specific. PLEASE HELP! More details below. I noticed a dark discoloration around the middle portion of his body. It takes up about a fourth of his body. He is eating normally and still fairly active, but I'm really worried about this discoloration. It wasn't as noticable a few days ago. I passed it for casual betta discoloration. He is 1 year old (I believe) and is in a 1 gallon tank. I feed him a 2 pellets per day. The tank is not heated but I do add warmer distilled water every now and then. He has live lucky bamboo plants ( just the tips of the plants, not the roots) And he has a filter too. (tetra whisper, 1-3 gallon filter) I also turn on the bubbler every now and then. I don't know what medicine I should use. But I would like to know so I can quickly run by the aquarium store tomorrow. PLEASE HELP! I read online that Betta-max tablets are the best treatment. But the company that manufactured them went out of business...there's also Bettafix and Melafix, but I hear the active ingredient in those two medications are highly harmful to the Betta. Should I go for the bettafix? Or is there something less risky?
