I have two questions. I own two holland lops, who will both be 1-year-old in a few weeks. One is male and one is female, and I had them spayed/neutered at 8-months-old (almost 4 months ago). For the first two months, they would sometimes try to mate with one another (it was the first time they had been together since they were 8 weeks old, since they are from the same litter). I keep them in the same general location, where their hutch and play area are, most of the time, but occassionally I bring them to a different room just to mix it up a bit. For some reason, they don't try to mate when they are in their hutch or play area, but when they're in the other room, they always try to mate, even now (4 months after being fixed). Is this normal? I don't think anything's wrong, but I was just wondering why they would do that. For question two, I have given them a lot of little wooden toys to chew on, but they don't seem to be chewing on them much. They like to toss them around, but they rarely use them for chewing. I have a large wicker basket for them, which they both love chewing on, but I was wondering if the wicker basket is enough for them to keep their teeth healthy. It's a slightly softer wood than the wooden toys I have for them, so I wasn't sure if it is strong enough. They also love chewing on cardboard. Is it okay that they aren't chewing on the harder wood?
