The other day my dog cut his leg at the park possibly on a sharp stick or on glass. I took him to the vet and to my surprise she didn't seem to look at it very closely and just gave me some antibiotics and some anti-inflammatories and painkillers and said it would take 7 to 10 days for it to heal. I took him to the vet on the 29th. The swelling of his foot which was originally about three times the size has gone down almost completely but he still isn't putting weight on his back foot. When we play at the park and when he goes to the bathroom and randomly when he steps up onto the couch he will use his bad leg and when he stretches and just random other occasions. His cut hasn't started to scab yet and it didn't appear like something got into it but that is my only conclusion to why it isn't closing? Basically I'm just worried and wondering if I will need to go back to the vet. Or if my dog is just being a baby and not putting his leg down and it just takes longer than normal to heal.
