I have a beautiful Shetland Sheepdog. She isn't the best dog, but she's good company. She is extremely shy and we have been taking her to the dog park often to get her socialized. Sometimes our family member brings his female dog over, and they do play. However, when they play, she begins to play very inappropriately. She snarls, growls, bullies, and obviously displays aggressive behavior, while the other does not. She bit on to her skin on her face for long periods of time and made her nose bleed. I scolded her at one point, but all she did was avoid the other dog after that. Afterwards, we went to the dog park. She stayed by our feet at one point and was, again, very shy. She has gotten aggressive when scared before. She was playing with one dog, I thought it was nice, but I wasn't extremely positive. After I petted her she began to stay by our feet again. Then, after a while, she began playing with another dog. Her aggressive behavior was starting again. Her lips were pursed up and she was snarling viciously. I rushed to leave before the play could go any further. So, is there any way I can stop the very inappropriate social behavior? Will she always be this way? And if not, I am wondering what I can do to begin liking her again? I wouldn't mind if she is just shy, but I can not stand aggressive dogs. I HATE aggressive dogs. Also, will her aggression transfer over to people? Thanks.
