I got a ferret a few days ago. He is 8 months old and I understand that he is young and that's what what they do. Just like my dog would nibble on you as it was a pup. With my dog, we would flick his nose and say "bad", he eventually stopped. Are there different or better techniques to use for a ferret? I heard flicking the nose of the ferret is bad and you should refrain from doing so. I started to pick him up by his scruff up to my face and I would say "bad" and as I would say it he would do a yawning type of thing and open his mouth then I'd put him down and he go run around and does his ferret stuff. Is this an okay technique? the ferret learn from it or am I wasting my time? Any suggestions to what I should/can do? Please & Thank you. xoxoxo.
