How do you feed a wild hand?

I caught a hand the other day and trapped it in my breadbox. It has since ate my bread, in the plastic. I'm not sure how old it is, just that it isn't a newborn hand. It shows no signs of being an undead hand, either, so it must need some kind of food. How do I feed it properly, and, if possible, tame it? Please answer as soon as possible, as my breadbox will not stop shaking and smoking.
