My dog wasn't trained with toys or played with any the first years of her life. We have had her three years and just recently finally got her to play with a ball but its hard. I trained her to sit and lay down and it took a long time and now she doesn't do it anymore because another family member didn't really do the commands like I showed them and would treat her even if she didn't do it right. I need to start all over and would lke to get her trained with a toy rather than with treats. She knows that if she puts her paw out she gets treats but shes just figuring out she only gets them if I tell her the command. I think I need to train the other humans in how to train the dog. My dog is five years old. Should I enlist the help of a professional trainer.
