My dog was initially treated for ibuprofen toxicity 36 hours ago. She has been treated with iv fluids from the second she came in and is currently still undergoing treatment at the clinic. According to the vet, her test results yesterday showed that everything was completely normal except for a slightly elevated liver enzyme. The vet is going to check again today, but I'm wondering - if her test results show that everything is normal today, should I be able to take her back home with me today? The vet is insisting that even if everything is normal today, that she stay until tomorrow evening and continue receiving iv fluids. This will have been 60 hours of being in the hospital and if it's not necessary, I would not like to pay another $1000 for staying an extra day if everything is normal, unless it is absolutely necessary for her well being. -She is a 7 lb pomeranian and I'm not sure how many ibuprofen she consumed as I wasn't home, but they guessed it may have been 3 200 ml pills. -She acted completely alert and her normal self last night and today when I checked up on her. -I have read reviews at this clinic after dropping her off, and it has a reputation of over-charging people.
