In August I got a stray cat from the park, she was about 6 months old then. She came up to me and was sweet and I wanted a playmate for my other rescue cat so I took her home. Next day I took her to the vet, she had to be treated for ear mites AND worms and in October I had her spayed. I feel like she is traumatized now, she is scared of EVERYTHING, she runs from me even if I just walk by her. If my bedroom door is open she spends all day hiding under the bed. I feel like I have ZERO connection with her. The only reason I haven't gotten rid of her is because she gets along so well with my other male cat. But she's like a play thing for him, she doesn't feel like MY cat. She is so skittish, I can't take it. It's impossible to give her medication or clip her nails or get her used to water or anything like it's like with my male cat. I also got my male cat at 6 months (He's almost 2 now) and he very quickly got used to clippings and water, and I'm trying to teach the female cat the same way I did my male cat but it's not working. She's very sweet though and not aggressive at all, never hisses at me or tries to hurt me. She just wants nothing to do with me. It doesn't help that once a week I have to clean her ears because she produces way too much ear wax. No wonder she runs from me every time I walk by her.
