What are some good, large dogs?

I am looking for a dog for when I move out and get a stable income and the time for a dog. I've had experience with dogs my whole life, growing up with almost every size of dog. I'm just looking for an idea of what type of dog I should get. ABOUT THE DOG My favorite breed is a samoyed, and I'm well aware of the attention these dogs need. I've researched samoyeds, and have had a friend that bred them. I wont be moving out for a couple years, and it will take even longer to get all the time and space for a large dog. I prefer large dogs, especially the furrier ones. The temperament doesn't matter, because all dogs are different. I wouldn't mind a mutt, but I would really prefer a pure-bred. ABOUT ME I'm ready to spend hours walking and playing with the dog, and I will invest the money to groom him or take him to a groomers. I also have plenty of friends or family that have the skills to dog sit, when needed. I am not allergic to dogs, but a lot of my family members do have some allergies, so I might get some minor allergies, but he wont have to be hyper allergenic or non-shedding. I also might have a cat, too, but my cat is an outdoors cat and is very laid-back. I live in a colder area, but the summers can be very warm. I will need a dog that can withstand colder climates, but he wont always be inside. I wont have any troubles preparing for any wars between the dog and cat, if the dog happens to like(or hate) cats or vice versa.
