Lately one of my dogs is having a lot of trouble breathing. He has short breaths and makes a weird breathing noise. It's almost like he is hyperventilating. My mom brought him to the vet and they said he doesn't have lung cancer and that his lungs are healthy. He breathes through his nose and I think if that was the problem he would just breathe through his mouth. It seems that he is having problems expanding his lungs. He's kind of old probably about 9-11 years. He is real thin and has been kind of sick lately. The vet had no idea and they sent in some blood work so we are waiting on that but it's really scarring me and I don't want him to die. He hasn't been around any kind of chemicals or anything that could freeze or damage his lungs and I think the vet would have been able to see that with X-rays. Normally he has small sneezes and is still able to do it but not as often. Does anyone have any ideas on what is happening?
